A good first hero forgives mistakes: clear abilities, a way to survive a bad engage, and usefulness even when behind on farm.
Movement-heavy or combo-heavy heroes shine later, once your fundamentals — aim, farm and positioning — are in place.
Look for straightforward gun damage and survival abilities — sturdy gunners and mid-range bruisers are usually the easiest to learn.

Every hero page has lore, win rate, counters and ready-made builds — enough to play your first matches with confidence.
Do not take a hero into ranked because of cool art: play two or three normal matches first.
Do not swap heroes after every loss — a stable pool of 2–3 climbs faster.
Do not copy pro builds blindly: a high-win-rate stat build is usually simpler and more consistent.
